The Georgia Master Teacher Certification Program was established in 2005 by the Professional Standards Commission to give statewide recognition to Georgia public school teachers who make a positive difference in the lives of their students. The "Master Teacher" designation is an honor awarded to teachers whose students have consistently demonstrated academic excellence.
Applying to become a Georgia Master Teacher is simple. As long as you have fulfilled the following criteria, you are eligible to be awarded "Master Teacher" status:
1) Minimum of 3 years teaching
2) Evidence of student achievement
3) Full-time Georgia public school teacher
